Julii Sharp - Burning Line

from €13.00

Julii takes her first name from a shell found in the Indian Ocean, where she spent her early years and learned her first songs in Creole, English and French. Julii honed her craft through countless concerts, open mic nights and support slots, before joining forces with local artists during a solo trip to Edinburgh, then settling in Toulouse and being spotted by Printemps de Bourges in 2022. These encounters, journeys and artistic wanderings have fuelled the inspiration for songs that borrow as much from Karen Dalton as from Elvis Perkins and weave together a musical tapestry that chooses not to draw a line between all its influences.

After a first EP in September 2023, her debut album, Burning Line, will be released on 24 October 2025.

In 2023, Julii Sharp and her EP Toucan left us ecstatic, enveloped in the cottony serenity of her soothing, weightless ballads. High hopes preceded this first album, Burning Line. And the first listen defies all expectations.

Between these two records, the earth burned. The lives of Julii Sharp and her musicians, marked by a series of painful events, were put on hold. Music too, inevitably fallow. For a year, everything stopped: rehearsals, writing, concerts... They had to wait, not for the pain to pass, but for it to transform, to run its course. And when everyone was ready, the band came together, united as never before around a single goal: to rekindle the embers on a field of still-warm ashes. Burning Line was then able to explode...
